Saraswat Khatri Pathshala society was registered and established as charitable society in the year 1921 on the auspicious day of “Basant Panchami”, with a motive to establish educational institution in the holy city of Allahabad. The land for the establishment was donated by “Late Lala Sadanlal khanna”.
In the international year for women 1975, members of the Khatri Pathshala Society contributed to establish a degree college with outstanding contribution of late S.N. Kakkar (Ex- minister, Union of India), prof . D.D. Khanna (Ex-Head of department, Defence Studies, University of Allahabad ) and Sri Shyam Narain Kapoor for establishing girls` degree college in name of Sadanlal Sanwaldas Khanna Girls`Degree College. The institution has grown from faculty to multi faculty where in education is being imparted in the faculty of Arts, Science, Commerce and B.Ed..
In the Academic Session 2004-2005 another milestone was installed in the institution when recognition was granted by the National Council for Teacher (plus OBC quata as enforced by university) Education, Northern region, Jaipur for teacher education course i.e., B.Ed. , with an intake of 100 seat, the B.Ed. course is affiliated to the University of Allahabad. B.Ed. course is running in its own building with infrastructural details as prescribed by NCTE.
Till date seven batches have completed their B.Ed Traning from Sadanlal Sanwaldas Khanna Girls Degree College in seven successive years. The 8th batch of the year 2012-13 is presently undergoing training. Since the inception of B.Ed. course we are consistently giving brilliant results with atleast 5 first names in the list of toppers in the University.
Out of the aforesaid students of last seven years most of them have already been successfully appointed as teachers in various esteemed institutions. B.Ed. faculty of Sadanlal Sanwaldas Khanna Girls` Degree College has 12 qualified Teacher Educators to facilitate teaching learning process, 01 Librarian, 01 Accountant, 01 Technical Assistant, 01 Financial Accountant and 04 Class IV empolyees.
The institution has applied for increasing the intake by another 100 seats; the application is under process with Regional office of NCTE, Jaipur.
